PVG PACKING LINE FOR POWDER MATERIALS

The packaging line has one simple function — to assure the accurate weight of powder in the box, and to release the operator from the need to be constantly present during the process of sifting and filling powder. This frees him up to do other activities, such as raising boxes, closing them, piling onto pallets, etc.

The basic layout of the machine consists of 2 conveying elements, one being a belt, for empty boxes, the other one being rollers, which transport the filled boxes to a final check weighing station prior to closing.

The actual filling part has a device to move the boxes from one belt to the scale, once the selected weight has been reached, it is moved onto the discharge rollers. Dust extraction openings are provided in the enclosure to make sure the surrounding areas do not get contaminated.

The material flow is controlled by means of a butterfly valve, an accuracy of+/- 40g (or 0.2% based on a 20 kg box) can easily be achieved. Sufficient height from the sieving machine must be provided to allow a certain buffer in the material flow during the time of box change over.

The transportation belts have a length of approximately 2.5 meters, this allows the placement of about 6 boxes, depending on the throughput targeted, this amounts to a buffer of up to 2 hours.

The machine needs compressed air to operate the cylinders for moving the boxes, plus electricity to operate the drives of the belts, the scales and the PLC. Dust control is to be provided by the customer, a minimum of 300 cubic meters per hour should be available.

Available capacity varies from 50 to 1200 kg/h.
